Update on Bishop kidnapped in Mosul, Iraq
Greetings in the name of Jesus, our great High Priest
Dear Sir/Madam,
On Friday (29th) we asked for prayer following the kidnapping of the Chaldean Catholic Bishop Paulos Faraj Raho in Mosul. We reported that his driver and one guard were killed and the second guard badly injured. We regret to report that the second guard has now also died.
All three victims were married and each had three children.
We understand that negotiations started with the kidnappers concerning the release of Bishop Raho. However, the latest reports suggest that they are currently stalled.
Iraqi Christians requests our prayers that:
a. The widows of Faris, Rami and Samir will know the Lord’s comfort b. Likewise for their children
c. The Bishop will be released soon
d. Until then, he will know the close presence of Jesus
e. Those negotiating for his release will know the Spirit’s clear guidance
f. All Church leaders in Mosul will be guided by the Spirit in all matters of providing leadership, pastoral support and the timing and conduct of services
g. All Christians in Mosul will remain faithful witnesses to their risen Saviour & Lord
h. The kidnappers will feel the love of Jesus and respond to His call to follow
